Disgraceful LTTE supporting Tamil Diaspora
- R Jayadevan
Having embroiled in the Sri Lankan politics ever since circumstances pulled me in to it during my young age, I have engaged with the determination and the underline desire to gain the denied political rights of the Tamil people in Sri Lanka. The democratic agitation of the Tamils eventually led to an armed struggle and as the time passed the very same armed struggle has changed into a mammoth human swallowing machinery and is even preying its own people.
Folly of LTTE front British Tamil Forum
The LTTE front British Tamil Forum (BTA) which succeeded the activities of the former British Tamil Association run by Arunachalam Krishanthakumar alias Shanthan is playing hide and seek game to fool the Tamil people and the British government. On one side they fear of the Terrorism Act and on the other the free thinking democratic voices within the Tamils diaspora and they are taking cover to protect themselves from being exposed.

In a press release published in the UK website of the LTTE front British Tamil Forum (BTF), it is claimed that the exhibition held at the parliament ‘is one of many events that the British Tamils Forum has organised to mark the twenty fifth anniversary of communal violence that took the lives of more than 3,000 Tamils’ The event took place on 16 July 2008.
British law makers are there to break the very law they make
Some of the British elected parliamentarians are being accused of disrespecting and violating the very same Terrorism Act they brought to halt citizens subscribing to the international terrorist activities in the UK. Five members belonging to cross parties in the House of Commons have knowingly attended the Pongu Thamil festival of the LTTE in the South London on 12 July 2008.
The LTTE is a proscribed outfit under the British Terrorism Act and even glorifying its cause is defined in the act as a terrorist act.

Glorifying terrorism in the UK
We publish two selected pictures put out in the LTTE websites (Puthinam.com) following LTTE’s Pongu Thamil event to glorify its dead black suicide cadres.
The LTTE activists holding pictures of the leader of the proscribed LTTE. Will British authorities allow Osama Bin Laden’s photographs to be carried publicly in this manner?
Child made to glorify terrorism
In a catalogue of violations of the Terrorism Act in the UK, photographs posted in the LTTE website tamilnet confirms even under aged children were not spared when the LTTE celebrated Pongu Thamil in London on 12 July 2008.
Photograph published in the tamilnet confirmed a child wearing coat depicting the proscribed LTTE’s logo. Glorifying terrorism is an offence under the Terrorism Act and the activists of the LTTE did enjoy exemption from impunity over their conduct.
Pongu Thamil – A money making event for the LTTE
Further evidence is emerging that the UK proscribed LTTE was able to collect large sums of funds from holding Pongu Thamil event in South London on 12 July 2008. In addition to filling standing order forms, the LTTE activists belonging to its UK front British Tamil Forum (BTF) sold specially made LTTE souvenirs, umbrellas, T’shirts and many other items.
Then Hi Hitler! Now Hi Pirabkaran!!
The photographs of Pongu Thamil event of the LTTE in London giving starling revelation about LTTE’s determination to extend its violent path has reached the hands of the free media. LTTE is not only violating the British terrorism law proscribing its activities in the UK, its hardcore activists/operatives went further to give Nazi salute at the event to their leader Velupillai Pirabakaran.
Adolf Hitler – Then, giving Nazi salute.
