Pongu Thamil – A money making event for the LTTE
Further evidence is emerging that the UK proscribed LTTE was able to collect large sums of funds from holding Pongu Thamil event in South London on 12 July 2008. In addition to filling standing order forms, the LTTE activists belonging to its UK front British Tamil Forum (BTF) sold specially made LTTE souvenirs, umbrellas, T’shirts and many other items.
Terrorism Act in the UK prohibits glorifying terrorism and collecting funds for a terrorist cause. The British Tamil Forum which is the UK arm of the LTTE is accused of undermining the Terrorism Act and involving heavily in the LTTE activities.

As you did NOT attend please note that
a) Entry was FREE
b) Car parking was FREE
c) The food was sold at a nominal fee
It may be the organisors were trying to be good to us who received
a) Polite support from the organisors
b) Great speaches from Leaders of all three main political parties
c) Spectacular dances from youngsters
d) Knowledge of the State terrorism in Sri Lanka on poor Tamils
If you are upset about us getting to know more about the State terrorism you are free to live as a slave in south of sri lanka licking Rajapakshes legs, but we youngsters will not live like our parents who were living like slaves.
Your children will accept it because they will have enough money to enjoy from the money you get from the Eelapatheeswarer temple 'Undiyal'. But unlike your children and you we will not live on others money or live like slaves like our parents.

Like I mentioned in your previous article, they were not standing order forms, but petitions to be sent to Gordon Brown. Please get your facts right!
And no, they were not "LTTE souvenirs". There was no LTTE logo or even the letters "LTTE" anywhere on those items. They simply had "Free Tamil Eelam" printed on them, as can be seen in the photos.
